Memorial Day Salute

On this Memorial Day, a salute to all those Americans who have lost their lives in foreign wars.

A special salute to Major Brian Mescall, a graduate of the Citadel, who was killed in action in Afghanistan.  And this is very, very sad to see.  Young man, your dad was a real American hero.

And here is a graphic that shows the locations where Coalition deaths have occurred in Afghanistan/Iraq as well as where those individuals came from in the U.S.

  1. Thanks for the link. I read this and talked it over with my siblings and parents. The site itself has more and his autobiography is a must-read.

We also attended the memorial service at L.A. National Cemetery. Its where all 700 or so nutjobs in the Westside of L.A. who think the troops are brave and knowingly fight for the right reasons, that our cultural imperative is to do good, and we do good, who speak about the republic, freedom and liberty unabashedly and who say the pledge of allegiance, we few nutjobs here come to congregate once a year. Dunno if I want to hang out with them all afterward, but it was nice to have their company on this day; I wish more came.
