In ancient Rome, a pileus was a felt cap given to slaves upon receiving their freedom. Since then, this simple cap has been a powerful symbol of liberty.
Not necessarily since given the usually low effectivness of government programs many would hold that government programs are by definition always too small.
But you have to think about opportunity costs. If the time & resources you spend on an activity aren’t very effective, that means you’re better off spending your time & resources elsewhere. If I’m not a very good cook and don’t care to learn, should I spend more time & money on cooking, or should I just eat out more often?
Absolutely! But try to convince a bureaucrat he is not a good cook. Good luck!
